Shande Sharee Cartwright became the country's latest murder victim after she was stabbed on a beach in the Adelaide Village area on Monday night.

A Royal Bank of Canada worker and mother of two was brutally stabbed to death on a secluded beach Monday night, police have confirmed.

Authorities have identified the woman as 22-year-old Shande Cartwright of Johnson Road.

Police said a group of men stabbed her on Adelaide Beach at 9:00 p.m.

Her boyfriend, who was with her at the time, was also stabbed several times.

Police said the boyfriend, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital.

Cartwright, however, died on the scene.

On Tuesday, Cartwright’s Facebook page was lit ablaze with condolences pouring in from family and friends.

One of Cartwright’s coworkers, who spoke on condition of animonity, described the atmosphere at the bank as a “depressing” one, as Cartwright was a cheerful person and

Arawak Homes officials said some Pinewood Gardens families could be on the verge of having their houses torn down as the company is in the process of compiling its list of "trespassers."

According to a press release issued Monday evening, the housing company noted that there are "hundreds of persons" in the area who are living on land that is not theirs.

PLP Rhetoric: Continually Dividing to Conquer the Bahamas

I was recently involved in a matter whereby a PLP Senator, Jerome Fitzgerald, stated in the Upper Chamber of Parliament that the company I work for "committed an egregious offence against the Stamp Tax" Act.

In a nutshell, we submitted an entry on May 25, 2010, for goods that arrived on May 24, 2010. The entry was approved on May 25, 2010, according to the Bahamas Customs stamp on it, and the Government announced a new tax rate on May 26, 2010. On May 27th we paid the approved entry, after getting a Manager's Cheque from the bank as usual, and collected the product off the dock. 83% of it was subsequently sold. Almost a month later Mr. Fitzgerald took advantage of his lofty position of power and made his comments described above. To make matters worse, Bahamas Customs rescinded their original approval and charged the higher rate of duty
